for the final project of the semester, we were given the program of the car wash to integrate process, material, and program into a sited context. the project began through three design languages, that of line, casting, and units. after creating schemes with each language, i began to develop a final scheme largely based on my line design logic. the programmatic juxtapositions were based upon a distance vs time graph study, placing planes of glass with fluctuating transparency to divide the groupings of program. to further promote the ethereal feeling of these fluctuating transparencies, a highly reflective corian layer wraps around the structure, producing a hygienic and mist-like experience.
